  • We are looking for an experienced CNC Vertical Borer Machine Operator to join our expanding team based in Atherton, Greater Manchester.

    What we can offer you:

    The Position

    The successful candidate must be apprentice trained /fully skilled and be able to program, set and operate medium to large capacity CNC lathes/Vertical borers (over 2.5 metre swing and components up to 10 tonnes) using Fanuc Controls. Must be able to write new programs from technical drawings and edit existing programs. Experience of canned cycles on Fanuc control is essential. Should have knowledge of modern tooling and methods and be able to work with minimum supervision.

    The successful candidate must be available to work either day or afternoon shifts.

The company manufactures high-integrity components and structures for various industries World-wide, specialising in large capacity CNC machining up to 13.5m in length and 35 tons in weight. The company has extensive in-house facilities and employs a highly skilled workforce to cover flame-cutting, forging, fabrication, conventional / CNC machining and component testing.

    Hours of Work

    Day Shift (39 Hours)

    Monday to Thursday 06:45am – 3:15pm

    Friday 6:45am – 2:15pm

    33 Days holiday (including 8 statutory)

    Afternoon Shift (36 Hours)

    Monday to Thursday 3:00pm – 12:00am

    28 Days holiday (including 8 statutory)

Must be able to write new programs from technical drawings and edit existing programs. Should have knowledge of modern tooling and methods and be able to work with minimum supervision.

    The successful candidate must be available to work either day or afternoon shifts.
